Sislo named CCM/AHL Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Albany Devils right wing Mike Sislo has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 10, 2016.

Sislo notched three goals and three assists for six points in three AHL games during a busy week that saw him skate in five contests in two leagues over the seven-day span.

Sislo began the week in the National Hockey League, suiting up for the New Jersey Devils in games Monday vs. Detroit and Wednesday at Montreal. On Thursday, he was named to represent the organization at the 2016 Toyota AHL All-Star Classic, and on Friday he was reassigned to Albany and tallied two goals and an assist in a 6-4 victory over Syracuse. Sislo recorded a goal and two assists on Saturday to lead the Devils to a 4-2 win over Lehigh Valley, then helped Albany earn a standings point for a seventh consecutive game in a 4-3 overtime loss at Hartford on Sunday afternoon.

Sislo is tied for third in the AHL with 16 goals – including a league-leading 11 power-play markers – and has totaled 29 points in 31 games for Albany this season, while also appearing in four NHL games with New Jersey. The fifth-year pro from Superior, Wis., signed with the Devils organization after four seasons at the University of New Hampshire and has registered 81 goals and 82 assists for 163 points in 278 career AHL games with Albany; he has also recorded one assist in 28 career NHL games for New Jersey.

In recognition of his achievement, Sislo will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Devils home game.
