Sound Tigers edge Rats, remain hot on home ice

Eric Boguniecki broke a 1-1 tie early in the third period as the Bridgeport Sound Tigers edged the visiting Albany River Rats by a score of 2-1 at the Arena at Harbor Yard on Tuesday night.

Boguniecki also tallied an assist in the contest to extend his scoring streak to seven games (6g, 6a), while teammate Frans Nielsen provided the other goal for Bridgeport.

The Sound Tigers set a franchise record with their ninth consecutive home victory. They are also winners of seven out of their last eight tilts overall.

Wade Dubielewicz stopped 37 of 38 shots to earn his ninth one-goal victory of the season.

Bridgeport defenseman Rick Berry added assists on both goals in the win, which lifts the Sound Tigers nine points clear of the fifth-place River Rats in the East Division.

Keith Aucoin scored the only goal for Albany, converting on a penalty shot with eight seconds left in the first period.
