Stars, Blues reassign Sneep, Sonne

The Texas Stars announced today that the St. Louis Blues have loaned forward Brett Sonne to Texas. Additionally, Dallas has loaned defenseman Carl Sneep to Peoria.

Sonne, 23, played in 56 games for Peoria this season, posting 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) and 14 penalty minutes. The Maple Grove, B.C., native is currently in his fourth professional season and has appeared in 265 career AHL games, all with Peoria, where he scored 65 points (31 goals, 34 assists) and had 132 penalty minutes.

Sonne was drafted by St. Louis in the third round (85th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Sneep, 25, was acquired by Dallas on Jan. 24 from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. The St. Louis Park, Minn., native played in 25 games for Texas, recording six points (two goals, four assists), 10 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating.

Sneep was drafted by Pittsburgh in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
