Career Notes
Enters his 11th professional season in 2012-13. Sloan signed a one-year, two-way contract with Dallas on 7/6/12. He made his pro and AHL debut with the Syracuse Crunch on an Amateur Tryout during the 2001-02 season, while his first full pro season was the next year split between Syracuse and the Dayton Bombers (ECHL). Sloan spent parts of six seasons with Hershey (AHL), winning two Calder Cup Championships with the Bears in 2006 and 2009. He made his NHL debut with the Washington Capitals on 10/21/08 in his hometown of Calgary; he scored his first career NHL goal four days later against Marty Turco of the Dallas Stars on 10/25/08. He missed a majority of the 2010-11 season due to a hip injury and stands one game shy of reaching the 100 NHL games milestone.
2012-13: Made his Texas Stars debut on 10/20/12 vs. Houston…Notched his first point for the Stars with an assist on 10/24/12 vs. Milwaukee…Missed two games due to injury on 11/21/12 vs. Oklahoma City and 11/23/12 vs. Abbotsford…Was a healthy scratch on 11/25/12 at San Antonio and returned to the lineup on 11/27/12 at Rockford…Suffered an injury on 12/21/12 at Oklahoma City and was forced to leave the game.
