Biography
2006-07: Scored his first professional point, a goal, October 13 vs. the Worcester Sharks… Twice recorded a career-high three points in a game (October 28 at the Portland Pirates and February 7 vs. the Hartford Wolf Pack)… Tallied three season-high three-game point-streaks during the regular season… Had nine multiple-point outings during the year… Finished seventh in scoring for Providence with 35 points in rookie season.
Career: 2005-06: Finished fifth in scoring for the Moncton Wildcats with 65 points on 34 goals and 31 assists, all junior career-highs… Moncton finished with the top record in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League at 52-15-0-3 to earn the Jean Rougeau Trophy while also winning the League’s President’s Cup over the Quebec Remparts… Became the first European player to win the QMJHL Playoff Most Valuable Player (Guy Lafleur Trophy) after producing 15 goals and 26 points in 21 playoff games… Eight of his 15 goals were game-winners… 2004-05: Missed most of the season with Moncton due to an ankle injury… Played in the World Under-20 Championships in Narva, Estonia, scoring 10 points to lead Latvia to the division title… 2003-04: Finished in the top-five of both team and league rookie scoring with 53 points… Tallied 13 points, including seven goals, in five games at the 2004 World Junior Ice Hockey Championship Division I Tournament.
