Biography
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: 2011-12: Among players who wore a Monsters sweater in ’11-12, appeared in more games (39) with the parent Colorado Avalanche than any other Monsters, registering 13 points… Earned first regular season pro point, an assist, in the Monsters opening night loss to Abbotsford on 10/7/11… Scored first professional goal, the OT winner, in a 3-2 Monsters win in Syracuse on 10/22/11; he added an assist in the contest for his first pro multi-point game… Received first NHL call-up on 11/25/11, and made NHL debut on 11/26/11, scoring his first NHL goal in Colorado’s 5-2 home win over Edmonton… Tallied points in first three NHL games… 2010-11: Awarded Bill Hunter Memorial Trophy as Western Hockey League’s Defenseman of the Year after leading WHL blueliners with 31 goals and tying for the points lead with 81 in 71 games for Saskatoon… Led WHL in game-winning goals (12) and plus/minus (+62)… Named to WHL Eastern Conference First All-Star Team… Finished season as Saskatoon’s highest scoring defenseman in history; 241 points in 282 games… Signed Entry-level contract with Avalanche on 3/21/11, played in five playoff games collecting two points… 2009-10: Led WHL defensemen in goals (26)...
