Biography

JUNIOR: Completed his first season of North American junior hockey with Calgary of the WHL in 2011-12, earning 63 points (33g, 30a) in 64 games to rank third on the team ... Missed the final game of the regular season and all of Calgary's first-round playoff series with Brandon, which the Hitmen lost in five games ... Chosen third overall by Calgary in the CHL import draft on 6/29/11 ... Totaled 11 points (5g, 6a) in 45 career games with Leksand in HockeyAllsvenskan, the Swedish second division, from 2009-11 ... Had also played in 52 games with Leksand's junior team, earning 25 goals and 28 assists (53 points)... Was ranked 12th among European skaters heading into the 2011 NHL Entry Draft... Played his first season for Leksand's J-20 Super Elite team in 2009-10, netting 22 goals and adding 19 assists (41 points) in 39 games... Also made his debut in Allsvenskan, the top Swedish minor league, skating in eight games. Spent the majority of the 2010-11 season with Leksand's team in HockeyAllsvenskan, earning 11 points (5g, 6a) in 37 games... Also played for Leksand's junior squad, scoring 12 points (3g,9a) in 13 games, and had eight points (4g, 4a) in four games with Leksand's U18 team.

INTERNATIONAL: Skated in four games at the 2009 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament... Totaled five points (3g, 2a) and was (+6) in six games at the 2010 U18 World Junior Championship in Belarus, helping Sweden capture the silver medal... Had eight points (1g, 7a) in six games and was the Player of the Game in the bronze-medal match at the 2010 World U17 Hockey Challenge in Timmons, Ontario... Earned five points (2g, 3a) and was (+5) in six games at the 2011 U18 World Junior Championships in Germany, as Sweden again won silver... Was named one of Sweden's top three players in that tournament... Helped Sweden capture gold at the 2012 World Junior Championship, earning one assist in six games.
