Biography

LAST SEASON | 2010-11 • Recalled from Peoria to St. Louis on six different occasions and totaled 26 NHL games during the season. • Made his NHL debut on Nov. 6. 2010 in a 2-1 victory at Boston, recording 2 PIM. • Recorded his first professional multi-goal game with two against Chicago on March 1, 2011. • Notched his first career NHL goal and first NHL multi-point game on 3/9 at Columbus with a goal and an assist in the contest. CAREER 2009-10: Appeared in nine games with Peoria after completing his junior season at the University of Notre Dame. Signed an Amateur Tryout Contract with the Rivermen on 3/22/10. Made professional debut on 3/26/10 at Rockford. Recorded his first professional goal and assist in his second game in a 4-1 win against Houston (3/27/10). NCAA: Played three seasons for the University of Notre Dame (2007-10). Played in 43 games as a freshman scoring eight goals with 12 assists and 40 penalty minutes. Notched a pair of assists in the 2008 Frozen Four. Earned CCHA rookie of the month honors for March and April. As a sophomore, led all defensemen for the second consecutive year with six goals. He added 20 assists for 26 points. Led Notre Dame in penalty minutes (58) and was also a team-best plus-15. One of the top collegiate defensemen in the nation scored three goals and added 16 assists for 19 points in 30 games played his junior season. Being drafted #18 overall is the highest any Notre Dame player has been selected. Early Career: Represented the United States at the 2008 World Junior Championships playing in six games and serving six penalty minutes. Made his second appearance with U.S. Junior National team at the 2009 World Junior Championships in Ottawa, Ontario, notching two goals and two assists for four points with four penalty minutes. Appeared in a total of 116 games while with the U.S. program amassing 39 points on 12 goals and 27 assists. He was selected as one of Team USA's top three players at the Under-18 World Championships in April of 2007.
