Mathieu Brodeur (D)
CAREER NOTES: 2012-2013: In his second season for the Pirates, Brodeur was 5th in goals scored and total points by a defenseman with 3 and 19, respectively. Brodeur was named Associate captain for the 12-13 season. 2011-2012: Notching 2 goals and 4 assists in 43 games in his debut with the Pirates, finishing the season with a +10 rating. 2010-2011: Brodeur played 2 games for the San Antonio Rampage before moving to the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL, tallying an assist in his first game. 2009-2010: In his third season for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, Brodeur was in the top third of defensemen for total points in the QMJHL. In 09-10, Brodeur set career-highs in goals, assists, points, PIM and plus/minus and ranked second among Cape Breton defensemen in plus/minus (+21). He also appeared in five playoff games with Cape Breton. In April of 2010, the Phoenix Coyotes signed Brodeur to an entry-level contract and assigned him to the San Antonio Rampage. 2008-2009: In 61 games, Brodeur recorded 3-12-15 and 15 penalty minutes. He added a goal and 3 assists in 11 playoff games for the Screaming Eagles. 2007-2008: Brodeur earned Cape Breton's Most Improved Player Award in his rookie season. Brodeur was drafted in the third rounf, 76th overall, in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
