Justin Dowling (C)
Enters his third full professional season in 2013-14. Dowling made his pro and AHL debut with the Abbotsford Heat on an Amateur Tryout (ATO) on March 30, 2011 at Hamilton. He recorded his first pro point with an assist on April 1, 2011 vs. Grand Rapids and then scored his first pro goal on April 2, 2011 against the Griffins. Dowling began the 2012-13 season with the Idaho Steelheads, where he had 46 points (13 goals, 33 assists) in 34 ECHL games. He was voted into the starting lineup for the 2013 ECHL All-Star Game on January 2, 2013 and he was leading Idaho and ranked second overall in the ECHL in both assists and points when he was called up to Texas and signed an AHL contract with the Stars on January 7, 2013. Dowling made his Texas debut on January 12, 2013 vs. San Antonio and tallied the sixth hat trick in franchise history with three goals on January 26, 2012 against the Rampage. He finished the 2012-13 regular season tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (4), while ranking second in both shooting percentage (15.8%) and points-per-game (0.79) and third in goals (16). Dowling made his Calder Cup Playoff debut on April 26, 2013 in Game 1 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals at Milwaukee. He finished the post season tied for second on the team in points (4). Dowling played four full seasons of major junior hockey for the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he played with Cody Eakin and Taylor Vause. In 280 career WHL games he had 242 points (81 goals, 161 assists) and 57 penalty minutes.
