Biography
Career Notes
Enters his second professional season in 2012-13. Coyle signed a three-year entry level contract with Dallas on 7/1/10. He made his pro and AHL debut with Texas on 10/9/11 against Oklahoma City. Coyle split the 2011-12 season between Texas and Idaho (ECHL); he recorded his first career pro point with an assist for the Steelheads on 12/9/11 against Colorado. He tallied his first AHL point with one assist on 1/6/12 at San Antonio and scored his first career pro & AHL goal on 4/10/12 vs. Chicago. Three of Coyle’s four junior seasons came with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL and for two of those years (2008-10) current Texas head coach Willie Desjardins was his bench boss. He was a member of the 2007-08 Spokane Chiefs who won both the WHL Championship and the 2008 Memorial Cup; that team has the distinction of being the only U.S. based team to win the Memorial Cup on Canadian soil.
