CAREER NOTES: Drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in the seventh round (229th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft and signed a three-year entry-level contract with Detroit... Made his pro and AHL debut with the Grand Rapids Griffins on October 15, 2004 against the Cleveland Barons... Made his NHL debut with Detroit on December 7, 2006 vs. St. Louis... Scored his first career NHL goal on December 4, 2008 against Vancouver... Won the 2008 Stanley Cup with Detroit... After seven years in the Red Wings organization, signed a one-year contract with the Winnipeg Jets on July 1, 2011, then returned for the following season... Was twice named to the AHL All-Star Classic, first with Grand Rapids in 2007, and again with St. John’s in 2013... Has twice reached the Conference Finals of the Calder Cup Playoffs, in 2006 with Grand Rapids (swept by Milwaukee 4-0) and in 2012 with St. John’s (swept by Norfolk 4-0)... Played for Canada Western in 2001 World U17 Hockey Challenge... Won a silver medal with Canada at the 2004 IIHF U20 World Hockey Championships... Played parts of five seasons of major junior hockey for the Red Deer Rebels of the WHL, tallying 97 points (27 goals, 70 assists) in 263 career games...
