2007-08: Returned for the playoffs from Anaheim Ducks on 4/20 for Game 3 against Hartford, scored a goal and an assist in the 3-2 win. Scored the game-winning goal in clinching the series victory against the Hartford Wolf Pack in Game 5. Scored two goals in the Pirates 4-3 overtime win against Providence in Game 3 at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Scored two goals, including the game-winner in the Pirates 3-2 win in Game 2 of Eastern Conference Finals against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. Scored the game-winning goal against Providence on 11/10 to give the Pirates a 4-3 victory. Scored a goal and recorded an assist in the Pirates 3-2 loss at Providence on 11/23.
2006-07: Scored his first point of the season in his first game on 3/31/07 in the Pirates 5-1 win against Springfield. Went on to produce 9 points in just 8 games to finish the season with the Pirates.
Career: Ryan spent the previous two seasons with Owen Sound of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). In 2004-2005, the forward finished second on Owen Sound in scoring with 89 points (37 goals, 52 assists) with a plus-minus rating of +30 and 51 penalty minutes in 62 games. Ryan finished tied for fifth in goals, sixth in points and tied for fourth in shorthanded goals (4) in the OHL. The right wing was a first-round pick by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (second overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
