His final season with the Golden Gophers saw him score a career-high 38 goals and 63 points in 41 games as he was named an NCAA West first team All-American and a WCHA first team-all star. Ryan also excelled in the junior ranks as he played two seasons with the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League prior to moving to the collegiate ranks. He was a key member of Lincoln’s 2003 USHL Clark Cup championship team, leading the league in scoring with 35-43-78 in 54 games. He was named the USHL Player of the Year as well as the USHL Top Forward and was named to the USHL’s first all-star team. His brother Grant is tied for the Falcons record for most goals in a game with four.
