Career Notes: Signed by Carolina (NHL) as an undrafted free agent to a 3-year contract in the summer of 2007… Made his professional debut on 10/6/07 and scored his first pro goal/point… Played in his first career playoff game and scored a goal and an assist on 4/16/08.
Juniors: Completed his three-year junior hockey career in 2007 with 70 goals, 98 assists (168 points) and 104 penalty minutes in 196 games... Totaled 21 goals, 28 assists (49 points) and 33 penalty minutes in 53 career QMJHL playoff games, helping Moncton capture the QMJHL Championship (President’s Cup) and a berth in the Memorial Cup in 2005-06... Won the George Parsons Trophy as the player who is judged to be the most sportsmanlike at the Memorial Cup Tournament in 2005-06... Past winners of the Parsons Trophy include Dale Hawerchuk, Jarome Iginla, Martin Gelinas and Hurricanes forward Ray Whitney... Ranked eighth in the QMJHL in goals (44), 15th in assists (55) and 10th in scoring with 99 points in 2006-07, his final season of junior hockey... Ranked second among QMJHL skaters in goals (14) and fifth in points (26) during the 2007 QMJHL playoffs.
