Biography

Career Notes

Enters his sixth full professional season in 2012-13. Last season he led Texas in points (66), assists (53), games played (76) and power play assists (22); he was tied for third overall in the AHL in assists and ranked eighth points. Morin was drafted by Washington in the ninth round (263rd overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry draft and he made his AHL debut with the Hershey Bears, the Capitals’ AHL affiliate, on 11/7/07 at Norfolk. He won the 2009 Kelly Cup with the ECHL’s South Carolina Stingrays and was a two-time ECHL All-Star. Morin original signed with Texas on an AHL contract on 10/21/09 and played in all 80 regular season games and all 24 Calder Cup playoff games of the Stars’ inaugural season in Cedar Park. He then signed a one-year NHL contract with Dallas on 7/12/10; he re-signed with Dallas on 6/9/11 on his current two-year two-way deal. He made his NHL debut on 1/26/11 vs. Edmonton. Entering the 2012-13 season, Morin is the Stars franchise leader in points (163), assists (108) and shorthanded goals (4), while ranking second all-time in games played (220), goals (55) and power play goals (18), third in shots (451) and fourth in game-winning goals (7).
