Biography
2011-12: In 43 games with the AHL's Chicago Wolves, posted 193 penalty minutes to lead the club. CAREER: Has racked up a total of 767 penalty minutes in 247 career AHL games played…Prior to 2011-12, played his entire career within the Philadelphia Flyers organization after being selected by the Flyers in the seventh round of the 2005 NHL entry draft...Led all AHL rookies in 2008-09 with 263 penalty minutes...Was traded to the Phoenix Coyotes in the Ilya Bryzgalov deal on June 7, 2011...Was the subject of the first-ever video explanation of suspensions by NHL Director of Player Safety Brendan Shanahan, after being hit from behind in a 2011 pre-season game against Calgary...Played two season with the USHL's Chicago Steel prior to his being drafted, posting 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) and piling up 378 penalty minutes...Won two Pennsylvania State AA Championships with Peters Township High School near his native Pittsburgh.
