Biography

Career Notes

Enters his eighth professional season in 2012-13. Wathier was drafted by Dallas in the sixth round (185th overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He re-signed with Dallas on 6/13/12 to a two-year two way contract. Entering the 2012-13 season Wathier is the Texas Stars all-time leader in goals (56), power play goals (22) and shots (533), while he ranks second in penalty minutes (273) and tied for second in game-winning goals (10); he also ranks third in games played (219), assists (61) and points (117) and is tied for third in shorthanded goals (3). He was selected to represent Texas at the 2011 AHL All-Star Classic in Hershey, where he scored two goals for the Western Conference All-Stars. Wathier made his NHL debut with Dallas on 10/21/09 at Anaheim and has played in nine career NHL games, while earning call-ups in each of the last three seasons. He split the 2006-07 season between the Iowa Stars (AHL) and the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL) and he helped lead Idaho to the 2007 Kelly Cup Championship. He won the President’s Cup (QMJHL) in 2003 with the Hull Olympiques and in 2004 with the Gatineau Olympiques.
