Participants will select a total of 10 players from among the 16 teams in the 2009 Calder Cup Playoffs, and accumulate points in the contest as their players rack up goals, assists, wins and shutouts.

Contestants will also be asked to answer bonus questions (e.g., “How many overtime games will there be this postseason?”) to receive additional points.

The 2009 Calder Cup Challenge begins with the first game of the division semifinal round in mid-April and ends with the last game of the Calder Cup Finals in June.

The participant with the most points at the end of the contest will be the grand prize winner and receive a game-worn autographed jersey from the 2009 AHL All-Star Game. Other top-10 finishers will receive prizes including team-autographed All-Star jerseys, AHL team premier jerseys from Reebok and AHL prize packs. Complete contest rules can be found here.

In operation since 1936, the AHL continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 85 percent of today’s NHL players are American Hockey League graduates, and more than 50 million fans have attended AHL games across North America over the past eight seasons.
