Thrashers get Schultz, send Sharrow to Canucks

The Atlanta Thrashers, parent club of the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, have acquired forward Jesse Schultz from the Vancouver Canucks, parent club of the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, in exchange for defenseman Jimmy Sharrow.

Schultz, 24, registered 18 goals and 21 assists for 39 points in 67 games for Manitoba in 2006-07 and also made his NHL debut with Vancouver, appearing in two games. He set career highs in 2005-06 with 37 goals and 67 points in 80 games for the Moose.

Schultz, a four-year pro, has recorded 64 goals and 67 assists for 131 points in 219 career AHL games, all with Manitoba.

Sharrow, 22, had four goals and 14 assists for 18 points in 42 games for Chicago last season. A fourth-round draft pick by the Thrashers in 2004, Sharrow has recorded 37 points (6g, 31a) in 89 games over two pro seasons with the Wolves.
