Tordjman named Goaltender of the Month

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today that Josh Tordjman of the San Antonio Rampage has been named the Rbk X-Pulse/AHL Goaltender of the Month for October. In six appearances to begin the 2007-08 season, Tordjman was 5-0-0 with a 1.94 goals-against average and a .937 save percentage.

Tordjman stopped 148 of 158 shots faced for the month, beginning with a 24-save effort in San Antonio’s 7-1 opening night win vs. Iowa on Oct. 6. He was named the game’s first star twice, turning aside 32 of 33 shots in a 2-1 victory over Peoria on Oct. 12, and stopping 31 shots in a 4-1 win vs. Houston on Oct. 27. Finally, Tordjman made 29 saves in a 5-3 win over Syracuse on Oct. 31, becoming the first goaltender in Rampage franchise history to win five consecutive decisions.

In recognition of his achievement, Tordjman will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Rampage home game.

A native of Montreal, the 22-year-old Tordjman was 15-18-2 with a 2.58 goals-against average and a .920 save percentage with San Antonio last season. He backstopped Moncton (QMJHL) to the Memorial Cup final in 2006, and signed as a free agent with the Phoenix Coyotes on July 2, 2006.
