Wolf Pack sign Bouchard

Hartford Wolf Pack General Manager Jim Schoenfeld has announced the team has agreed to terms with New York Rangers defenseman Joel Bouchard. The 6-foot-1, 209-pound Montreal native is expected to join the team Friday night in Manchester.

“Joel will add experience and great puck handling abilities to our club,” said Schoenfeld. “He’s a great addition to the already strong lineup we have heading into the playoffs.”

Bouchard played 28 games for the Rangers in 2003-04, scoring one goal and assisting on seven others for eight points. In 2002-03, the 31-year-old spent 22 games with Hartford (6-14-20) and 27 games with the Rangers (5-7-12) after being claimed by the Rangers from Buffalo in the 2003 Waiver Draft. He was initially Calgary’s seventh choice, 129th overall in the 1992 Entry Draft.

Bouchard has played 247 career AHL games with Hartford, Albany and Saint John, recording 31 goals and 87 assists for 118 points. He participated in the AHL All-Star Game in 1995 and 1996.
