Wolves acquire defenseman Bell

The Chicago Wolves announced Tuesday that they have acquired defenseman Brendan Bell from the Norfolk Admirals in exchange for future considerations.

Bell has compiled one goal and 22 assists for 23 points in 47 games for Norfolk this season, his 12th pro campaign. Overall, he has totaled 54 goals and 198 assists for 252 points in 486 career AHL contests with Norfolk, Connecticut, Syracuse, Peoria, Binghamton, San Antonio, Toronto and St. John’s.

The 31-year-old Ottawa, Ont., native has appeared in 102 career NHL games with Toronto, Phoenix, Ottawa and the N.Y. Rangers, notching seven goals and 21 assists.

Bell was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
