Wolves add Trotter on camp tryout

The Chicago Wolves announced Wednesday that forward Brock Trotter has signed a professional tryout contract with the club.

Trotter, 30, has spent the last three seasons in Europe after missing two years due to injury. Last season in Finland’s Liiga, Trotter recorded 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points in 42 games between SaiPa Lappeenranta and Karpat.

Trotter’s last action in North America came during the 2011-12 season, when he notched 14 goals and 24 assists for 38 points in 42 AHL games with Hamilton, Portland and St. John’s.

A native of Brandon, Man., Trotter has totaled 71 goals and 102 assists for 173 points in 214 career AHL games. He set career highs in goals (36), assists (41), points (77) and plus/minus (+33) with Hamilton in 2009-10. Trotter also has 13 goals and 18 assists for 31 points in 40 career Calder Cup Playoff games.

Trotter has appeared in two career NHL games, with Montreal in 2009-10.
