Wolves bolster blue line with veterans

The Chicago Wolves have signed two defensemen: Chicago native Nick Naumenko and National Hockey League veteran Chris Tamer.

Naumenko collected eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points in 46 AHL games with Utah and Hershey in 2004-05. The 31-year-old product of the University of North Dakota has appeared in 292 career AHL games with Worcester, Portland, Utah and Hershey, collecting 46 goals and 118 assists. He played for PlanetUSA at the 2002 AHL All-Star Classic.

Tamer has recorded 21 goals, 64 assists and 1,183 penalty minutes in 644 career NHL games with Pittsburgh, the N.Y. Rangers and Atlanta, skating for five seasons (1999-2004) with the Thrashers, the Wolves’ parent club.
