Wolves outshine Stars again in Game 4

Andre Deveaux and Jason Krog each scored twice as Chicago continued its offensive mastery of the Iowa Stars with a 6-1 victory in Game 4 of the West Division Final on Tuesday night.

The Wolves now own a 3-1 series lead and can advance to their third Western Conference Final in six years with a win in Game 5 on Thursday.

Deveaux snapped a 1-1 tie with the go-ahead goal at 11:12 of the first period, then added his third goal of the series at 7:17 of the second.

Brian Fahey and Cory Larose scored 44 seconds apart early in the third period to put the game out of reach.

Darren Haydar, Brett Sterling and Kevin Doell each had two assists for Chicago, which has scored 70 goals in 14 games against Iowa this season.

Haydar’s two points give him 89 for his Calder Cup Playoff career, moving past former Wolves captain Steve Maltais for seventh place on the AHL’s all-time postseason scoring list.

Michael Garnett made 25 saves in the win for the Wolves. Dan Ellis allowed five goals on 14 shots before giving way to Tobias Stephan (10 saves).
