Wolves, Rivermen make deal

The Chicago Wolves have received defenseman Brent Regner from the Peoria Rivermen in exchange for future considerations. In addition, the Vancouver Canucks have loaned forward Stefan Schneider to Peoria and the Wolves have loaned forward Nathan Longpre to the Rivermen.

Regner has posted three goals, 15 assists and 18 points in 66 games with Peoria this year. The 23-year-old blueliner set career highs with 29 helpers and 31 points in 75 outings with Springfield during the 2011-12 campaign.

The Westlock, Alta., native is in his fourth professional campaign and has tallied 15 goals and 73 assists for 88 points in 247 career AHL outings with Peoria, Springfield and Syracuse.

Schneider has accrued two goals, five assists and seven points in 31 games since rejoining the Wolves on Dec. 17. He began the 2012-13 campaign with an injury that kept him sidelined until Nov. 30.

Longpre has notched four goals, eight assists and 12 points in 53 contests with Chicago this year during his second professional campaign. The 24-year-old forward tallied 11 goals, 10 assists and 21 points in 59 games with the Wolves and Springfield as a rookie last year.
