Wolves score eight straight, rout Marlies

After falling behind 1-0 early in the first period, the Wolves turned on their offense full throttle, running over the Marlies by a score of 8-1 at Ricoh Coliseum on Monday night.

Brett Sterling, who won AHL All-Star Game MVP honors in this building a week earlier, increased his goal scoring lead by tallying his 41st and 42nd goal of the year and adding an assist for Chicago, which is 4-1-0-1 on its current nine-game road trip.

Kevin Doell and Derek MacKenzie each had a goal and an assist and Fred Brathwaite stopped 39 of 40 shots on the night as the Wolves increased their lead in the West Division, improving their record to 32-15-1-4 and 69 points.

Joey Crabb, Andre Deveaux and defensemen Troy Milam and Brian Fahey also provided goals in the win for Chicago.

Jeff Corey scored the lone goal for Toronto in the loss.
