Aeros add three

The American Hockey League’s Houston Aeros have signed center Bryan Lundbohm, left wing Mike James and defenseman Colin Peters.

Lundbohm, 28, has spent most of the last four seasons with the Aeros’ West Division rival, the Milwaukee Admirals. In 234 games with Milwaukee, Lundbohm has posted 93 points (33g, 60a) and 170 penalty minutes, including seven goals and 12 assists in 47 games with Milwaukee in 2004-05. Lundbohm also skated in three contests with Grand Rapids last season.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound native of Roseau, Minn., played three collegiate seasons at powerhouse North Dakota. He chipped in 124 points (56g, 68a) in 122 games with the Fighting Sioux, winning a national championship in 2000. As UND’s captain in 2000-01, Lundbohm was a WCHA First Team All-Star, and was also named to the NCAA All-Tournament Team and NCAA Second Team All-American. He led the WCHA and finished second in the nation in goals (32) that season.

James, 23, comes off a standout season with the ECHL’s Johnstown Chiefs and Toledo Storm. The versatile winger combined for 34 points (12g, 22a) and 235 penalty minutes with the two teams. The 6-foot, 187-pound James hails from Windsor, Ont., and played four junior seasons in the OHL with Ottawa, Windsor and Mississauga.

Peters, 23, was a popular player in 2004-05. As a rookie, he spent most of the campaign with UHL Quad City, totaling six points (1g, 5a) and 68 penalty minutes in 72 games. He earned three recalls to the AHL, playing seven games combined with Manchester, Portland and Chicago. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound native of Eden Prairie, Minn., played four collegiate seasons at St. Cloud State, registering 21 points (6-15=21) in 143 games.
