Aeros hit lucky seven

Erik Westrum scored two goals and added an assist extending Houston’s winning streak to seven games with a 3-2 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Westrum scored the game winning goal for the Aeros, giving him 84 points on the season, and a one point lead for first in the scoring race over teammate Kirby Law.

The Aeros Curtis Murphy helped with two assists, and Josh Harding made 29 saves for his 26th win of the season.

Pierre Daganais and Francis Lemieux scored the goals in the losing effort for Hamilton.

With the win the Aeros (42-14-1-2, 87 pts.) extend their lead in the West division to six points over the idle Milwaukee Admirals.

The loss ended a five game winning streak for the Bulldogs. Hamilton (27-33-0-3, 57 pts.) remain nine points behind the Toronto Marlies for the fourth and final playoff spot in the North division.
