Aeros sign goaltender Brust

The Houston Aeros have agreed to terms with goalie Barry Brust for the 2007-08 season, the team announced Friday.

Brust, originally a third-round selection by the Minnesota Wild in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, has spent most of the last three seasons in the Los Angeles Kings organization.

Brust, 24, was 9-7-0 with a 2.40 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage for the Manchester Monarchs in 2006-07, and added a 2-1 mark (1.81, .937) in the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs. Brust also made his NHL debut with the Kings last season, posting a record of 2-4-1 in 11 appearances.

A 6-foot-2, 235-pound native of Swan River, Man., is 28-21-1 in 53 career AHL games, all with Manchester.
