SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League and TSN today announced that a slate of games will air live on Canada’s Sports Leader throughout the rest of the 2017-18 AHL regular season.
TSN’s coverage of the AHL begins Wednesday, Feb. 28, when the Toronto Marlies host the Syracuse Crunch at 11 a.m. ET on TSN2, with additional games to be announced.
“We are excited to work with TSN again to bring the excitement of the American Hockey League into fans’ homes across Canada, and to show the skill and energy of hockey’s brightest young stars to a national audience,” said David Andrews, AHL President and Chief Executive Officer.
“We look forward to continuing this great partnership with the AHL to deliver a slate of games to Canadian viewers, again providing the opportunity for fans across the country to witness the next generation of hockey greats,” said Shawn Redmond, Vice-President Content Strategy and Business Operations, TSN.
Wednesday’s game will also air in the United States on NHL Network.
In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League continues to serve as the top development league for the players, coaches, managers, trainers, executives and broadcasters of all 31 National Hockey League teams. More than 88 percent of today’s NHL players are AHL graduates – including stars such as P.K. Subban, Braden Holtby, Brent Burns, Erik Karlsson and Carey Price – and more than 100 honored members of the Hockey Hall of Fame developed in the AHL – among them Johnny Bower, Terry Sawchuk, Larry Robinson, Patrick Roy and Brett Hull.
