AHL, AMI Graphics announce extension

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League announced today a three-year extension on its partnership with AMI Graphics, extending the current relationship through the 2011-2012 season.

Under the agreement, AMI Graphics will continue to serve as the Official Supplier of Dasher Board Graphics and Arena Signage to the American Hockey League. AMI Graphics will also be the exclusive provider of arena and promotional signage for the next three AHL All-Star Classics, AHL Marketing Meetings and other league events.

“AMI Graphics has been a terrific partner for the AHL and our member clubs,” said Chris Nikolis, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for the AHL. “AMI produces the highest quality signage and customer service that is second to none. We appreciate the partnership and look forward to working with them for many years to come.”

Based in Strafford, N.H., AMI Graphics specializes in the design, print and production of arena signage, including graphics for dasher board advertising, in-ice logo stencils, indoor and outdoor banners, posters, wall murals and backlit signage.

“We are excited about the extension of our partnership with the AHL and continue to be committed to delivering the league and all of its member clubs the superior level of service that they deserve,” said Ed Miles, General Manager for AMI Graphics.

In operation since 1936, the AHL continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 84 percent of today’s NHL players are American Hockey League graduates, and for the eighth year in a row, more than 6 million fans attended AHL games across North America in 2008-09. The AHL’s 74th regular season begins on Friday, October 2, as 29 teams begin competition for the prestigious Calder Cup.
