AHL announces front-office additions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … American Hockey League President & CEO David Andrews announced today that Joe Banach and Kristen Krasinskas have both been appointed to positions of Marketing Services Coordinators for the AHL, responsible for executing the league’s marketing initiatives and providing overall support to the marketing department.

A 2011 graduate of Springfield College with a degree in sports management, Banach most recently served as an intern for Kroenke Sports Enterprises in Denver, assisting the organization’s marketing staff with sponsorship proposals and the implementation of in-game sponsorship elements. Banach previously interned in the AHL office, and his additional intern experience includes stints with the NBA Development League’s Springfield Armor and the Connecticut Defenders of the Eastern Baseball League.

Krasinskas is also a former AHL intern and a sports management major at Springfield College. She has spent the past two years as a member of the college’s athletic department event staff, responsible for game-day needs including operations, ticket sales, hospitality and promotions. Krasinskas has also served as a field marketing representative for the Dew Tour in Boston, working for the Chicago-based company AlliSports.

In operation since 1936, the American Hockey League continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 87 percent of today’s NHL players are AHL graduates, and the 2010-11 season marked the 10th consecutive year in which more than 6 million fans attended AHL games across North America.
