AHL announces suspension

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced that Albany River Rats defenseman Tim Conboy has been suspended for eight (8) games as a result of his actions during an AHL playoff game vs. Philadelphia on Apr. 16.

Conboy was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 70.6 (leaving the players’ bench during an altercation) and AHL Rule 29.1 (supplementary discipline).

Conboy will miss Albany’s next eight games, beginning with Game 2 of their division semifinal playoff series vs. Philadelphia on Friday. (If Albany’s season ends before the entire suspension can be served, any remaining games will carry over to the 2008-09 regular season.)
