AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced the following suspensions:

• Abbotsford Heat forward Paul Byron has been suspended for three (3) games as a consequence of a boarding incident in a game vs. Milwaukee on Oct. 21.

Byron will miss Abbotsford’s games Wednesday (Oct. 26) at Toronto, Friday (Oct. 28) at Grand Rapids and Sunday (Oct. 30) at Hamilton.

• Portland Pirates forward Ryan Hollweg has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of an illegal check to the head of an opponent in a game vs. Providence on Oct. 22.

Hollweg will miss Portland’s game tonight (Oct. 25) at St. John’s.

• Lake Erie Monsters forward Hugh Jessiman has been suspended for four (4) games as a consequence of a boarding incident in a game at Toronto on Oct. 23.

Jessiman will miss Lake Erie’s games Wednesday (Oct. 26) vs. Syracuse, Friday (Oct. 28) and Sunday (Oct. 30) vs. Toronto and Nov. 2 at Grand Rapids.

• Springfield Falcons forward Adam Mair has been suspended for four (4) games as a consequence of an illegal check to the head of an opponent in a game vs. Connecticut on Oct. 22.

Mair will miss Springfield’s games Wednesday (Oct. 26) at Manchester, Friday (Oct. 28) vs. Hershey, Saturday (Oct. 29) vs. St. John’s and Nov. 4 vs. Adirondack.
