AHL announces suspensions

The American Hockey League announced today that Binghamton Senators defenseman Jan Platil has been suspended for four (4) regular season games as a result of his actions in a February 12, 2005 AHL game in Albany.

Albany River Rats left wing Brett Clouthier and right wing Cam Janssen have each been suspended for three (3) regular season games and right wing Rob Skrlac has been suspended for one (1) regular season game as a result of their actions in the same AHL game.

Platil will miss Binghamton’s next four regular season games: Thu., Feb. 17 vs. Bridgeport; Fri., Feb. 18 at Syracuse; Sat., Feb. 19 at Manchester and Fri., Feb. 25 at Albany.

Clouthier, Janssen and Skrlac will all miss Albany’s next regular season game on Fri., Feb. 18 at Providence. Clouthier and Janssen will also miss Albany’s games on Sat., Feb. 19 vs. Hamilton and Mon., Feb. 21 vs. Norfolk.

The AHL also announced the following suspensions:

Hartford Wolf Pack center Ryan Hollweg has been suspended for three (3) regular season games as a result of his actions in a February 12 game versus Portland.

Hollweg will miss Hartford’s next three regular season games: Fri., Feb. 18 vs. Worcester; Sat., Feb. 19 at Springfield and Sun., Feb. 20 vs. Norfolk.

Edmonton Road Runners center Dan Baum has been suspended for two (2) regular season games as a result of his actions in a February 10 game in Cleveland.

Baum served the first game of his suspension during Edmonton’s game on Fri., Feb. 11 in Hamilton. He will also miss the Road Runners next game on Fri., Feb. 18 at Manitoba.
