AHL announces suspensions

The American Hockey League announced today that Chicago Wolves center Derek MacKenzie has been suspended for one (1) regular season game as a result of his actions in a January 1, 2005 AHL game in Manitoba.

MacKenzie will miss Chicago’s next regular season game on Fri., Jan. 7 at Milwaukee.

On Tuesday, the AHL announced that Philadelphia Phantoms left wing Ryan Ready has been suspended for three (3) regular season games as a result of receiving a game misconduct penalty for physical abuse of an official in a January 1, 2005 AHL game in Albany.

Ready missed Philadelphia’s game on Sun., Jan. 2 versus Rochester and will also miss the Phantoms next two regular season games: Fri., Jan. 7 versus Syracuse and Sat., Jan. 8 at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

The AHL also announced that Portland Pirates right wing Graham Mink has been suspended for one (1) regular season game as a result of his actions in a December 31, 2004 AHL game versus Providence.

Mink will miss Portland’s game on Wed., Jan. 5 at Lowell.
