AHL announces suspensions

The American Hockey League announced today that Portland Pirates center Darcy Verot has been suspended for three (3) regular season games as a result of receiving a match penalty in a December 17, 2004 AHL game in Hartford.

The AHL also announced that Albany River Rats defenseman Teemu Kesa has been suspended for two (2) regular season games as a result of his actions in a December 17, 2004 AHL game in Hershey.

Verot has served the first two games of his suspension (Dec. 18 vs. Bridgeport; Dec. 19 vs. Hartford) and will also miss Portland’s game on Thu., Dec. 23 vs. Springfield.

Kesa will miss Albany’s next two games: Wed., Dec. 22 and Sun., Dec. 26, both at Binghamton.
