AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced the following suspensions:

Worcester Sharks defenseman Brendan Buckley has been suspended for four (4) games as a result of his actions in a game at Manchester on Dec. 5.

Buckley was suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 29.1 (supplementary discipline). He has already served one game of the suspension, and will also miss Worcester’s games on Wednesday (Dec. 10) vs. Springfield, Friday (Dec. 12) at Hartford and Saturday (Dec. 13) at Lowell.

Lowell Devils defenseman Anssi Salmela has been suspended for three (3) games and Lowell Devils center Rod Pelley has been suspended for one (1) game as a result of their actions in a game vs. Portland on Dec. 6.

Both players were suspended under the provisions of AHL Rule 29.1 (supplementary discipline).

Salmela will miss Lowell’s games on Friday (Dec. 12) at Providence, Saturday (Dec. 13) vs. Worcester and Dec. 19 at Philadelphia.

Pelley will miss Lowell’s game on Friday (Dec. 12) at Providence.
