AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced the following suspensions:

Bridgeport Sound Tigers forward Connor Jones has been suspended for four (4) games as a consequence of a match penalty for an illegal check to the head of an opponent, assessed in a game at Springfield on Dec. 2.

Jones will miss Bridgeport’s games tonight (Dec. 3) vs. Binghamton, Sunday (Dec. 4) vs. Lehigh Valley, Dec. 10 at Binghamton and Dec. 11 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

Ontario Reign defenseman Damir Sharipzianov has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of his actions in a game vs. Tucson on Dec. 2.

Sharipzianov was assessed an instigator penalty within the final five minutes of the third period, resulting in an automatic one-game suspension under the provisions of AHL Rule 46.22. He will miss Ontario’s game tonight (Dec. 3) vs. Charlotte.
