AHL announces suspensions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League today announced the following suspensions:

• Lehigh Valley Phantoms right wing Derek Mathers has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of his actions in a game at Binghamton on Apr. 3.

Mathers received an automatic one-game suspension under the provisions of AHL Rule 23.3 for accumulating his third game misconduct in the “general” category this season.

Mathers will miss Lehigh Valley’s game tonight (Apr. 4) at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

• Providence Bruins center Rob Flick has been suspended for one (1) game as a consequence of his actions in a game at St. John’s on Apr. 3.

Flick received an automatic one-game suspension under the provisions of AHL Rule 23.6 for accumulating his second game misconduct in the “physical fouls” category this season.

Flick will miss Providence’s game tonight (Apr. 4) at St. John’s.
