AHL launches on-line Jobs Board

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. … The American Hockey League has announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with TeamWork Online, an on-line sports job recruiting service, to use its integrated job board and application tracking system software for human resource management to post jobs and recruit candidates.

The AHL joins an elite group of professional sports leagues and teams, including the NHL, the NBA and teams in Major League Baseball and the NFL, which are using TeamWork Online’s recruitment software to find the sports industry’s top talent. The company’s software allows job seekers to make detailed applications for posted jobs and for sports properties to do refined searches based on applicant criteria.

To view employment opportunities, job seekers can visit the official Web site of the American Hockey League, theahl.com, and click on the Career Opportunities link to be connected directly to the new interactive AHL Hockey Jobs Board. Applicants will be able to review AHL employment and internship opportunities and submit an on-line resume to use for one or more open positions, all at no cost to them.

“Partnering with TeamWork Online is a great opportunity for the AHL and our member clubs,” said Chris Nikolis, vice president of sales and marketing for the AHL. “TeamWork is clearly the leader in the on-line sports-job recruiting industry and will help our teams find the most qualified people available as they build their staffs. We look forward to building a long-term and mutually beneficial partnership.”

“We are delighted to partner with the AHL,” said Buffy Filippell, TeamWork Online founder. “Candidates interested in working with the AHL will be able to apply on-line for jobs and have their credentials seen directly by the AHL team hiring managers. When an applicant applies for future notification, he or she will automatically be notified of jobs posted in the future specifically fitting their skills.”

Created and used by Filippell’s TeamWork Consulting, Inc., the nation’s leading sports executive search firm, TeamWork Online is the dominant online recruiting system and applicant tracking software used by sports teams, leagues, governing bodies and others. In the last five years more than 5,000 positions have been filled through TeamWork Online’s software and 64 percent of all positions posted have been filled with applicants whose resumes were in the team, league or group’s database.

In operation since 1936, the AHL continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 80 percent of today’s NHL players are American Hockey League graduates, and for the fifth year in a row, more than 6 million fans have attended AHL games across North America in 2005-06. The league’s 70th-anniversary season is concluding with the 2006 Calder Cup Finals, currently underway between the Milwaukee Admirals and the Hershey Bears.
