Texas looks to become the first team to advance to the second round of this year’s playoffs as it takes a 2-1 series lead into Game 4 at Ontario tonight… The Stars have worked overtime to earn both of their victories in the series, most recently Sunday’s marathon 5-4 win that ended on Samuel Laberge‘s goal at 17:38 of the second OT period… Mike McKenna was stellar in Game 3, coming on at the 9:19 mark of the second period with the Stars trailing 4-3 and stopping all 44 shots he faced the rest of the way, including 28 in sudden-death overtime alone… McKenna (2-1, 2.21, .940) is now 6-5 in postseason OT decisions over his AHL career, and his 44 saves were tied with Mike Murphy (Charlotte, 5/4/11 vs. WBS) for the most in a playoff game without allowing a goal since Carey Price‘s 46-save shutout for Hamilton in Game 1 of the 2007 Calder Cup Finals at Hershey… Travis Morin (2-2-4), Brian Flynn (2-1-3) and Curtis McKenzie (0-3-3) all have points in each of the first three games of the series for Texas… Mike Amadio (1-3-4) notched a goal and two assists for the Reign in Game 3, and Cal Petersen (1-2, 2.75, .903) finished with 39 saves… Defenseman Matt Roy (1-1-2) had a goal for Ontario in Game 3, his fourth goal in the last nine games after scoring once in his first 43 outings this season… Michael Mersch (1-2-3) scored in Game 3 goal and now has 16-19-35 in 43 career playoff games… Ontario outshot Texas by a 66-44 margin on Sunday — including 28-14 in OT — and has a 139-103 advantage for the series… The Stars’ two OT wins come after they won 23 one-goal games in the regular season, tied for the most in the AHL… Ontario is 2-for-9 on the power play in the series; Texas is 2-for-12.

April 24, 1993 – Olaf Kolzig makes 26 saves as Rochester finishes off a five-game series victory over Martin Brodeur (22 saves) and the Utica Devils, 3-2.
