Providence forced this evening’s Game 7 in the Atlantic Division Finals with a come-from-behind 4-2 victory over Hershey last night… Chris Porter (4-2-6) and Austin Czarnik (3-3-6) each tallied a goal and an assist and Zane McIntyre (6-5, 2.12, .923) made 26 saves as the Bruins rallied from down 2-0 at the first intermission… Providence got goals from Danton Heinen (5-5-10) and Colton Hargrove (2-1-3) to tie Game 6 before Porter scored the eventual game-winner with 22.6 seconds left in the middle period… Heinen’s goal was his first since he scored twice in the Bruins’ decisive Game 5 win at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in the first round… McIntyre has stopped 103 of 108 shots (.954) in Providence’s three elimination games this postseason… Chandler Stephenson (2-2-4) and Chris Bourque (6-4-10) each recorded a goal and an assist for the Bears in Game 6… Bourque has 4-4-8 in the series and 7-10-17 in 16 career playoff games against Providence… Vitek Vanecek (1-1, 2.61, .919) made 30 saves in last night’s defeat… The Bruins own a 193-124 advantage in shots on goal in the series, including 144-71 in the last four games… All three of Hershey’s wins in the series have come in OT, the third time in franchise history they have accomplished that feat (2010 vs. Manchester; 2010 vs. Albany)… Providence has lost eight consecutive trips to overtime during the postseason, one shy of the all-time AHL record of nine set by the Manitoba Moose between 2003 and 2011… The Bruins, 6-for-22 (27.3 percent) on the power play against the league’s top-ranked penalty killers in the first round, are just 1-for-21 (4.8 percent) against Hershey in this series… The Bears are 4-for-21 (19.0 percent) following an 0-for-13 showing in the opening round against Lehigh Valley… Hershey has won nine Game 7’s, most of any AHL franchise, including five in a row and all three ever played at Giant Center… The Bruins are 28-18 all-time when facing playoff elimination, including an impressive 17-8 on the road… Hershey is 49-17 (.742) all-time on home ice when facing playoff elimination, including 9-1 at Giant Center since it opened in 2002… Providence is the fifth team in AHL history with three road wins in one postseason when facing elimination; no team has ever won four (see below).
