The Eastern Conference Finals resume tonight with Toronto hosting Charlotte in Game 3… The best-of-seven series is tied at a game apiece after the Checkers’ 5-3 win on Saturday night, storming back from a 3-0 deficit to hand the Marlies their first loss of the postseason… Tomas Jurco (5-5-10) tallied a goal and two assists to lead the Charlotte comeback, and Andrew Poturalski (6-8-14) scored the winning goal with 1:41 left in regulation… Nicolas Roy (1-8-9) added a goal and an assist for his first points of the series, and defenseman Jesper Sellgren (1-0-1), a 2018 draft choice by Carolina, scored his first career AHL goal… Dustin Tokarski (2-0, 0.63, .971) stopped all nine shots he faced in 35 minutes of relief work and improved to 9-0-0 as a member of the Checkers… Trevor Carrick (0-6-6) extended his scoring streak to six games with an assist… Jeremy Bracco (3-10-13), Colin Greening (1-0-1) and Adam Brooks (6-1-7) scored for Toronto in Saturday’s loss… Kasimir Kaskisuo (8-1, 1.77, .940) stopped 20 of 24 shots but lost in regulation for the first time in nearly two months (Mar. 16 at Lehigh Valley)… Charlotte scored more goals in the third period of Game 2 (four) than Toronto had allowed in any of its first eight playoff contests, and became the first team to win a playoff game after trailing by three goals in the second period since Grand Rapids beat Lake Erie, 5-4, in Game 4 of their second-round series in 2016… Before Game 2, the Marlies were 29-1-2-1 during the regular season and 6-0 in the playoffs when leading after two periods… Saturday marked Charlotte’s first-ever win in a conference finals game (1-5)… Toronto enters Game 3 with an 11-0 record over the last two postseasons in games when a series is tied.

In the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Sunday, St. Louis took a 3-2 series lead in the Western Conference Final with a 5-0 win at San Jose… Jaden Schwartz scored three goals and Jordan Binnington made 21 saves for his first shutout of the postseason.

In the IIHF World Championship in Slovakia yesterday, three-time AHL All-Star Jonathan Marchessault notched a goal and an assist in Canada’s 5-0 win over Denmark… 2015 Calder Cup champion Adrian Kempe tallied a goal and an assist and Dennis Rasmussen scored the winning goal in the final minute to lift Sweden over Latvia, 5-4… Marco Rosa scored once in regulation and once in the shootout to help Italy to a 4-3 win over Austria… David Phillips recorded two assists to help Great Britain to a 4-3 overtime win over France.
