Syracuse improved to 7-0 at home this postseason and took a 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals with a 5-4 win over Providence last night (recap)… Cory Conacher scored two goals and assisted on two others to lead the Crunch offense… Mike McKenna finished with 38 saves… Danton Heinen scored twice for the Bruins, moving into a tie for leading scoring lead with 17 playoff points… Game 4 is tomorrow night at the War Memorial Arena.

Mitch Callahan scored with 3:40 left in regulation as Grand Rapids rallied for a 4-2 win over San Jose in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals last night (recap)… The Griffins scored three times in the third period to hand the Barracuda their first regulation loss all season when leading after 40 minutes (39-1-2)… Game 4 is set for tomorrow night at Van Andel Arena and will air live on SiriusXM NHL Network Radio.

Pittsburgh hosts Ottawa in Game 7 of the NHL’s Eastern Conference Finals tonight… Penguins forward Jake Guentzel, a member of the 2016-17 AHL All-Rookie Team, is tied for the NHL lead with nine goals this postseason… Ottawa’s Bobby Ryan, a 2008 AHL All-Star, is tied for the league lead with three game-winning goals, and Erik Karlsson leads all NHL defensemen in scoring (2-14-16).


On This Date
May 25, 2012 – Toronto advances to its first Calder Cup Finals with a 3-1 win over Oklahoma City to win the Western Conference championship.

May 25, 2009Michael Grabner nets the game-winner on a third-period power play to give Manitoba a 3-1 win over Houston in Game 6 and a berth in the Calder Cup Finals.

May 25, 1994 – Olaf Kolzig turns aside 49 of 50 shots as Portland takes a 3-1 series lead in the Calder Cup Finals with a 2-1 win over Moncton in double overtime.
