After staving off elimination with a 1-0 win in Game 3 on Sunday, Houston looks to push its series to the limit with another victory in Oklahoma City tonight… Brett Bulmer, a 2010 second-round draft pick by Minnesota, scored his first pro playoff goal and eighth-year pro Mike Brodeur made 31 saves for the shutout and his first career Calder Cup Playoff win in Game 3… Bulmer and Cody Almond each has a goal and an assist in the series for the Aeros, who have scored just two goals in three games while being outshot by the Barons, 116-55… Yann Danis (2-1, 0.67, .964) stopped 20 shots on Sunday but suffered his first regulation loss in 11 starts vs. Houston this season (9-1-1)… Oklahoma City’s Ryan Keller (2-2-4) continues to lead all scorers in the series… Rookie forwards Hunter Tremblay (2-1-3) and Tyler Pitlick (2-0-2) share the Barons team lead with 10 shots apiece.

Chicago returns home with its back to the wall, needing to get off the schneid against San Antonio to prolong its season… The Wolves have lost all six meetings with the Rampage this season, including Games 1 and 2 of this series at the AT&T Center… All six head-to-head games have been one-goal decisions, most recently San Antonio’s 4-3 win in Game 2 on Saturday night… Jon Matsumoto (3-3-6) is tied for the AHL playoff scoring lead, one point ahead of teammate James Wright (2-3-5)… Jacob Markstrom (2-0, 3.13, .908) made 36 saves in Game 2… Kevin Doell (2-2-4) and Darren Haydar (1-3-4), both members of the Wolves’ 2008 Calder Cup championship team, are tied for Chicago’s team scoring lead… After going 4-for-29 between them in the regular-season series, the teams are a combined 9-for-19 (47.4 percent) on the power play in this best-of-five, with San Antonio at 5-for-9 and Chicago 4-for-10… The Rampage are looking to wrap up the first playoff series win in the franchise’s 10-year history.

Marc Staal, who made his professional debut with Hartford during the 2006 Calder Cup Playoffs, assisted on the game-winning goal as the N.Y. Rangers defeated Ottawa, 3-2, in Game 6 last night… Mike Smith, who appeared in 10 Calder Cup Playoff games with Houston (2005) and Iowa (2006), made 39 saves as Phoenix eliminated Chicago with a 4-0 win in Game 6.

April 24, 1992 – Yanic Perreault records a goal and an assist and Felix Potvin makes 21 saves as St. John’s defeats Moncton, 8-4, in Game 1 of their second-round series.

April 24, 1973 – The Nova Scotia Voyageurs run their playoff winning streak to 12 games spanning two postseasons, completing a four-game sweep of the Boston Braves with a 7-1 victory at Boston Garden.

April 24, 1966 – The Cleveland Barons defeat the Springfield Indians, 3-2, for their 15th consecutive playoff win, a record that still stands today.
