After a pair of convincing wins in Milwaukee, Toronto heads home with a chance to close out the Admirals in Game 3 tonight… The Marlies, who scored three goals in two regular-season meetings with Milwaukee this year, have 11 goals in the first two games of the series, with Jerry D’Amigo (2-3-5), Trevor Smith (0-4-4) and Sam Carrick (3-0-3) leading the offense… Toronto is 4-for-16 on the power play in the series, while holding Milwaukee to 1-for-12 and scoring two shorthanded goals (both empty-netters in Game 1)…Defenseman Bryan Rodney (1-2-3) is the Admirals’ top scorer in the series, with a point on three of the team’s four goals… Milwaukee has lost five straight road playoff games going back to 2011.

Rochester coughed up a two-goal lead in the third period of Game 1 and fell in overtime, but avoided a similar fate in Game 2 and held on to even the series heading to Chicago for Game 3 tonight… Chad Ruhwedel (2-2-4) had his second straight two-point game for the Americans and Colton Gillies (1-1-2) also had a goal and an assist as Rochester snapped a 10-game postseason losing streak that dated back to its first-round loss to Abbotsford in 2010… Luke Adam (1-1-2) and Joel Armia (1-1-2) also have two points in the series for the Amerks… Chicago has been led offensively by Dmitrij Jaskin (1-2-3), who scored the OT winner in Game 1, and defenseman Brent Regner (1-2-3), who picked up two assists in Game 2… Keith Aucoin‘s goal for the Wolves in Game 2 moved him past Tim Tookey and into sole possession of 13th place all-time with his 83rd career Calder Cup Playoff point.

About Last Night…
The Texas Stars became the first team to advance to the second round of the 2014 Calder Cup Playoffs, completing a three-game sweep of Oklahoma City with a 4-2 victory in Cedar Park last night… Justin Dowling broke a 2-2 tie with 8:39 left in regulation for the Stars… Maxime Sauve scored the game’s only goal at 14:51 of overtime as eighth-seeded Norfolk took a 2-1 series lead over top-seeded Manchester with a 1-0 victory in Game 3… John Gibson made 35 saves for the shutout… Chuck Kobasew‘s deflection of a Conor Sheary shot with 7:32 gone in OT gave Wilkes-Barre/Scranton a 3-2 win over Binghamton and a 2-1 lead in a series that has seen all three games to date go to overtime… Markus Granlund scored with 1:02 remaining in the third period as Abbotsford staved off elimination with a 2-1 victory in Game 3 at Grand Rapids… Kael Mouillierat scored the only goal of the game and Michael Hutchinson stopped 24 shots to earn the shutout as St. John’s blanked Albany, 1-0, in Game 3 at Mile One Centre; the IceCaps now have a 2-1 series lead.
