Hershey hosts Toronto in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals tonight after grabbing the series lead with a 3-1 victory in last night’s opener… Carter Camper (5-6-11) recorded a goal and an assist, Liam O’Brien (2-2-4) scored the tiebreaking goal early in the third period and Aaron Ness (0-8-8) tallied two assists for the Bears… Camper extended his scoring streak to seven games, tying San Diego’s Nick Ritchie for the longest such streak in the AHL this postseason… Zach Sill (3-3-6), who played 21 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2014-15, scored his third goal in the last four games… Justin Peters (8-4, 1.72, .936) made 19 saves for the Bears, who limited the Marlies’ league-leading offense to just 20 shots on goal in Game 1… William Nylander (3-4-7) scored the only goal for Toronto, which is now looking to avoid losing back-to-back games for the first time since Mar. 12-13… Antoine Bibeau (5-3, 2.75, .905) stopped 20 of 23 shots in defeat… Connor Carrick (6-8-14), scoreless in Game 1, has 5-8-13 in the Marlies’ seven playoff wins and 1-0-1 in their four losses… T.J. Brennan (5-0-5) has gone four games without a point, matching his longest drought of the season (Mar. 1-6)… Last night was the 600th Calder Cup Playoff game in Bears franchise history (324-276, .540)… Hershey was 1-for-4 on the power play; Toronto was 0-for-1… The Bears had lost Game 1 in each of their first two series this postseason; the Marlies are now 1-2 in Game 1’s… Hershey improved to 9-2 all-time at Giant Center in conference finals games.

The Western Conference Finals begin tonight in the Inland Empire as Ontario hosts Lake Erie in the first-ever meeting between the teams… The Reign finished off a five-game win over San Diego last Saturday night, while the Monsters defeated Grand Rapids in six games, capped by an overtime win on Monday… Nic Dowd (3-5-8) leads Ontario’s offense with eight points this postseason… Adrian Kempe (4-1-5) has 11 goals in 58 regular-season games and 12 goals in 26 Calder Cup Playoff games over his brief AHL career… Twenty of the 23 Reign skaters to appear in a playoff game have recorded at least one point… Peter Budaj (7-2, 1.73, .918) has allowed three goals or fewer in 24 consecutive starts; Lake Erie has scored at least four goals in 16 of its last 24 games… Zach Werenski (4-6-10) enters the conference finals with points in five straight games for the Monsters, including the series-clinching overtime goal in Game 6 last round… The Kings’ and Blue Jackets’ affiliates were rivals in Manchester and Springfield from 2010-15, with Manchester winning 16 of 30 meetings over that span… Anton Forsberg, who stopped all 23 shots he faced in relief in Game 6 at Grand Rapids, was 2-0-0 with a 1.45 goals-against average and a .942 save percentage in two starts against the eventual Calder Cup champions from Manchester last season… Ontario is outshooting its opponents by a 316-195 margin through nine playoff outings, an average of 35-21 per game… Lake Erie ranks first in the AHL in power-play efficiency this postseason (28.6 percent); Ontario is first on the penalty kill (93.1 percent).

In the Stanley Cup Playoffs last night, 2007 AHL All-Star Ryan Callahan and 2012-13 AHL MVP Tyler Johnson scored for Tampa Bay in a 4-3 win over Pittsburgh in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference final… Andrej Sustr, a Calder Cup finalist with Syracuse in 2013, also scored, as did Jonathan Drouin, who had 11-2-13 in 17 AHL games with the Crunch this season… Nikita Kucherov and 2012 Calder Cup champion Alex Killorn had two assists apiece… Andrei Vasilevskiy, 7-4-1 (1.94, .935) with Syracuse this year, made 35 saves in the win… 2004 AHL All-Star Chris Kunitz scored for the Penguins.

In quarterfinal action at the 2016 IIHF World Championships in Russia on Thursday, Keith Kinkaid made 31 saves to lift the United States to a 2-1 shootout win over the Czech Republic… Mark Stone and Mark Scheifele each tallied a goal and two assists, 2015 AHL All-Star Matt Dumba added a goal and an assist and Cam Talbot made 24 saves as Canada defeated Sweden, 6-0… Mikael Granlund scored twice for Finland in a 5-1 win over Denmark… Evgenii Dadonov recorded a goal and an assist in Russia’s 4-1 victory over Germany.
